A man is ethical only when life, as such, is sacred to him, that of plants and animals as that of his fellow men, and when he devotes himself helpfully to all life that is in need of help.~Albert Schweitzer
Not All The Same

Doug tries to communicate with a plant… This is the first Doug drawing I’ve done since getting sick a month ago… I’m out of practice!
Plants have unique spirit frequencies, just like everything else that exists with us in this reality.
This belief, rooted in shamanism, goes back to when humans had to live off of their wits and the environment, and predates organized religion by a long time.
All cultures relied on the various properties of plants to treat illness, provide nutrition and even assist in spiritual revelations.
Plants haven’t changed, we have, and so has our perception of them.
Becoming familiar with the properties and spiritual identities of plants is a beneficial pursuit that is helpful with everyday life as well as an aid in our spiritual journeys.
Recent studies show that plants communicate amongst themselves. If we can somehow tap into this energy, even just a little, we’ll have access to knowledge that wasn’t available to us before…
Our next couple of posts will deal with getting to know plants and the elements. This will wrap up our outer exploration of the natural world around us and we’ll begin to focus on being present in the now.
We’ll pull together all the different parts of the spirit bodies we’ve learned about and shape a new way of existing within this knowledge… At least, that’s what Doug says.
He’s just a monkey though, and he didn’t write anything while I was sick this past month. I’m not sure we can trust his wild claims, but we’ll see how close we can get to his promise…

This is true. I read a book called the Intention Experiment. It talks about these types of things. Great Post. If only more people thought like this.
I’ll have to check out that book…
Love this!
Thanks!
Yes well, the object here is to teach them how to talk back…
Maybe they know how and choose not to…
You have a point there Doug; perhaps we’re all insane, and the plants know it! I’m reasonable certain the rest of the ecosystem does…

In our culture of science we count stems and examine ligules of plants to differentiate between species, however in different indigenous cultures they have homed into the different frequencies of these plants to determine the species….for instance tribes in the deep amazon have correctly identified many different species of Psychotoria, not through stem count but listening to the different key they sing in on the full moon…..Just another thought to open the heart and brain earthlings!
