Busy Couple Of Months
The monkeys are back in town!
Doug and I have been away for a couple months… As we shared in a past post, I landed a job as a middle school art teacher.
It didn’t work out as I had hoped. The position I had was with a special program for students who are at least two years behind their grade level. In reality, it is a dumping ground for students who get kicked out of the other schools in the county.
I was physically assaulted twice and had my materials stolen. The students regularly spit on my desk and had zero respect for me. At the end, they began making up stories about how I was saying racist comments to them and told the other teachers and administrators this.
I had to resign… And so did three other teachers. It is a small program so that represents about 25 percent of the teaching staff. I see the positions are still open on the county job board…
Life Can’t Be Planned All The Time
So, I’m kind of back where I was a couple months ago. I’m applying for many different jobs just so I can get some income flowing… It’s a bit scary and nerve wracking…
I thought I planned out my life, but life didn’t cooperate. There are still lessons for me to learn I guess. I wish I wasn’t so thick headed about it!
Back to the starting line… I missed my blog and all of my friends here. I’ll be catching up over the next few days, in between applying for jobs removing barnacles from whale bellies and selling fur coats to polar bears… Whatever makes money, or so goes the advice that is freely shared with me.
I still think there’s a way to make a living doing what you love… I just haven’t figured out how yet. Maybe I need to re-read my Finding Your Path In Life series and finish the Connect With Your True Self series…

Hey Allison! Doug and I are glad to be back. The past few days have been busy as I scramble to find something that will pay me some money for my time. I plan to get back to blogging regularly though.
There are a lot of things I want to explore via my blog still, and all Doug does is sit around and mope. I have to get him busy again.

I was a teacher for 31 years, 24 of it in middle school. I have been in the same situation you describe. That can only happen when the school administration is out of whack. I have worked in an alternative school setting where they ran a tight ship and students eventually toed the line and made their way back to the regular school that sent them there. I have also worked in a monkey house like you describe. It has nothing to do with you and your skills. Some administrations aren’t in it for the kids. They warehouse losers and snarks and basically feed teachers to them. Hopefully you will recognize that kind school before you accept the job next time. I do hope you try again. You and Doug are perfect for educating in the wonder years. You have the whole creativity thing down, and kids will love you if they just get the chance.
The school administration was not effective.I was told the teachers would have a lot of support and be backed up, but neither was the case.
I’m not sure if teaching is the path for me. Maybe in time, and with the right school. For now, I just need to find something to keep going…

Good to hear from you John… The world needs teacher like you John, and you know that… Teachers who can guide students to an outside square thinking, guiding them towards awakening their consciousness, because ultimately its the change of consciousness what will safe this planet… I know you had a bad experience in that school, but since we are the creators of our realities, you created that experience for a reason that only your high-self and your Divine being (the other John) know exactly why… All will be revealed at the right time, but I believe your porpuse in life it goes very much in this direction… The same as you have and still are changing the life of many readers you can change the life of many students out there, who are waiting to meet you as we speak… 🙂 …

Hey Gloria- Thanks for the pep talk. It gets discouraging sometimes, not being on the path that is waiting to be discovered.
I think I’ll teach in some capacity, just maybe not in a public school. I enjoy helping others learn about themselves and what they desire from life.
