SO TRUE!!!!!! Recognize the conditioning and the brainwashing and the propaganda, the best you can and LET IT GO. Oh, maybe I said that too loudly…BUT IT NEEDS TO BE SAID.
This is so on time. This very week, I have reduced my traditional job hours to 30 (got to keep that health insurance and those benefits for now) to be able to spend more time writing and on other creative work. It’s so exciting to be moving in the direction that feels right. Small steps in the right direction will make a big difference! The night I did my last evening group is the same night I got my first actual check for writing. (It was a small check, but it meant a lot to me.) In regard to Michael’s question: for me, I didn’t’ really value my natural talents and went into a different career. Maybe I needed to learn what that career of the past 30 years had to teach me. Maybe that job was me at one time, but now I’ve grown up enough to honor my true self, maybe I’m outgrowing the old job. Or maybe I’m just tired of it. John and Doug: thanks for adding to the confirmation of this movement and letting me share my excitement!
Hi JoAnne- Sorry it’s taken a few days to reply- I’ve been on a blogging vacation, enjoying the outdoors.
Yay for you growing and trusting the direction you’re heading in! It’s important to not deny what we feel inside… I did that for six years working a municipal job I hated.
I wish everyone was brave enough to do what the desire, or at least realize they’re not content and figure out what they want from life.
Congrats on your first writing check. That’s conformation for you right there…
Love it! The ability to unself…very powerful!
🙂 I’m glad you think so.

That’s truer than we’d like to admit. Which opens up a whole can of worms: how and when did we lose our true selves?
I think we’re shamed into forgetting who we are, starting as children… Following the crowd and fitting in is what’s expected.

Makes you think, doesn’t it? ;^)

No apology needed. It’s good that you’ve been enjoying the outdoors. Thanks again for the support.
