Time Is Relative.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.~Buddha

Time Isn’t Constant
time

Time is a monkey on Doug’s back…

Time is plastic… It can be shaped by events in our life.

Sometimes it’s pulled out and passes slowly, and sometimes it is compressed and passes quickly.

This perception of time is the result of living in our three dimensional reality… Our physical reality.

In the spirit world, or the other world or whatever term you feel comfortable using, time doesn’t exist as we perceive it here.

The limitations we experience here don’t exist there.

We experience time differently depending on the situation we’re in. If we’re enjoying ourselves we “lose track of time” and it’s suddenly much later than we realized.

If we’re doing something we dread, time can pass slowly, or almost not at all (I’m remembering you, third grade!).

This fluctuation in our perception of time isn’t usually influenced by us… It happens automatically.

We can learn to control time to some extent though…

Being Present

In the next few posts, Doug and I are going to write about time, how it influences us and how we can influence it in return. we’ll share exercises to help you understand these ideas, and eventually we’ll move on to discuss the idea of living in the present moment and the importance of doing so.

Time can work for us as easily as it works against us. It’s important to understand how it manifests in our physical world and how we can use it to our advantage.

If we don’t understand time it will slip away from us, and take our dreams and lives with it…

  1. Wow! Very well said and so interesting indeed. I look forward very much to more exploration of this topic! Or should I not look forward maybe, and instead enjoy the present moment 🙂 thank you for this.

    1. Hey Allison- Staying present is easier said than done, so looking forward is OK… Especially if it’s for one of my posts!

  2. Very well put. I have been working with this very topic for a while now. It getting easier and easier to stay present but it is definitely a practice. When I am in the present moment there is NO time, just now and it is such a present and peaceful place to reside. Have a blessed day. 🙂

    1. It’s tough to stay in the present sometimes… It does get easier with intention and practice though.

      1. You are absolutely right

There is no such thing as time, NOW is all there really is.
