Listening To The Signs.

Even the woodpecker owes his success to the fact that he uses his head and keeps pecking away until he finishes the job he starts~Coleman Cox

I wasn’t planning to write a blog post today… Today was set aside to plan out what my goals will be for the next year and how to achieve them.

Basically, I’ve been sitting in my chair and not really accomplishing much. For some reason, I’m hitting a blockage today and can’t get serious about planning my future…

And then I heard the tapping. Something outside was making quite a fuss, so I went out to see what was disturbing my inactivity.

Wake up and see what's going on you thick headed monkey!

Wake up and see what’s going on you thick headed monkey!

It was a tiny woodpecker. This little bird managed to make so much noise I heard it inside my house, with the windows shut, while I was trying to concentrate on planning my future.

I watched him for a while and went back inside to look up what message the bird was bringing me… Woodpecker came by to tell me ( from this site):

It is time to really pay attention because opportunity  has come knocking along with it. It is signaling you that great changes are happening in your life and it is up to you to seize the moment. Whether it is the renewal of an old project, the finishing of a new project or simply a serendipitous meeting with someone in your life. Whatever way you perceive it know that the door is wide open for you right now and that success is yours for the asking.

This is the exact message I needed to hear today. Call it synchronicity, or coincidence or whatever makes you comfortable.

For me, I can’t believe there isn’t more than coincidence at work…  I sat struggling with my future plans, a woodpecker managed to catch my attention, lure me outside and inspired me to look up the meaning of its message… And the message is one I really needed to hear today… And I haven’t seen a woodpecker in months.

Wonderful things happen when we pay attention. Keep an eye and an ear open for messages. You may be surprised at what you discover…

Everything happens for a reason. I’m fascinated by the way you hear animals. I’ve started practicing. Today I found a dove. It told me “Leave all your worries. Plan nothing. Be with peace. Leave all to God.”

    1. A dove was outside my front door this morning… I heard others in the distance. It’s funny how life works…

      1. All we can do is to watch the show and play our role. Life is incredible and amazing!

  2. Oh I am so happy your woodpecker came and that you uncovered his message! Great one indeed. I will be keeping my eyes and ears open too. Thanks so much for this 🙂

    1. Thanks! Let me know what animals come to you… It’s strange- there’s been a lot of synchronicity between me and some others concerning the animals who are communicating with us…

      1. I will! I’m working on uncovering my inner strength lately so kind of hoping for a lion (metaphorically speaking) but will keep open to the possibilities.

I saw a woodpecker too, this morning on my way to school! 🙂 It looked really beautiful and determined pecking on a telephone pole. How great is that, here I am quite far away in Northern Europe, (Southern Finland) and marveling the same stuff. 🙂 Have a Great week!

    1. Synchronicity at work! Woodpecker is getting around it seems… Have a great week as well.

  4. Everyone knows that even the smartest of monkeys have blocks, it is just the way we are, now more people know there are no coincidences in this experience. But there is something monkeying around making life so delicious to experience. Happy playing with your goals team.

    1. Hey Paul- Thanks… I’m still monkeying around and not making much progress. I guess I’m learning a lesson in patience…

  5. Amen. I couldn’t have said it better. Thanks for sharing this, it is the grounding of me as well. Some days, I just need to open my eyes, my ears, and my heart…walk outside…and all of a sudden it’s there…divine messages just for us.

    1. They’re always there… We just have to listen. It’s too easy to be caught up in the tiny problems in life and miss the big picture.
