My Blog Is Still Alive!

You don’t develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity.~Epicurius

I thought I should update everyone about what’s been going on with me… I don’t want you to think I abandoned my blog!

Who has time to worry about hair? Let it be crazy, is what I say…

I got the flu just about three weeks ago. It knocked me out for a few days, but I thought I was better a week ago. But my joints started hurting, and my head was still clogged up.

The joint pain got to be so bad that I could hardly move. Luckily, I have some anti-inflammatory pills left over from my shoulder surgery.   They helped some, but the pain was still pretty bad.

I went to the doctors this morning and presented my list of complaints… It’s the flu, with complications. I have a sinus infection and my auto immune system was thrown off track by the flu, which is causing my joint pain.

It’s not just joint pain, but probably reactive arthritis… No wonder it hurts so much!

So I’m home, with antibiotics for the sinus infection and steroids for the joint pain… I’ve been sleeping a lot these past couple weeks and that probably won’t change for a few days. My blog has been on the back burner, but not forgotten.

Once I’m able to stay awake I’ll be back to posting regularly. I’m looking forward to getting back to writing…

This is what I look like with the flu...

Il Duce- This is what I look like with the flu…

I’ve never been so sick in my life. One good thing though… With my crazy hair and unkempt self, my family thinks I’m starting to look a bit like the character Il Duce from the movie The Boondock Saints….

I can think of worse characters to look like. Maybe I’ll cultivate the look…

Take care John, wishing you well. Geo

  13. I know what it’s like. I am a diabetic and I get the flu in some fashion about four times a year, flu shot or not. The best you can do is tough it out. Hang in there. Let the monkey do the blog for you. Wait, will that work?

    1. Wow, the flu four times a year is tough… Doug could work on the blog but he won’t… He’s lazy. He thinks since I’m sleeping more so can he.

    1. Thanks- I feel for you. I can’t imagine how I felt being my default. I have much more sympathy for those with chronic conditions now… Maybe that’s the lesson I’m supposed to learn from this.

  15. Take care, take time to get better otherwise you’ll keel over again. With regard to your hair, I’ve got some great purple dye to spare. Want some???????

    1. Thanks, I’m taking it really easy! I don’t want this surging back. I think I’ll keep my hair how it is. My family already thinks I’m over the top weird… I used to dye it back in my punk days though…

  16. 🙂 Take it easy…and it looks like you are. Get well.

    1. I am! Taking it easy, that is. Thanks for the well wishes.

  17. Take good care of yourself and feel better soon.

    1. Thank you, I will.

  18. Wow that flu sounds terrible, I hope I don’t get it. Hope your feeling better. Your hair and your comments from your family made me laugh or rather put a smile on my face. Lucky you have hair!

    1. It is horrible. The doctor says it’s a lingering kind. I’m glad I can still make people smile!

      1. I guess many of us are like
Job in bible if we are afflicted we seem to look more towards the higher power otherwise we seem to stay don’t make any changes or grow. Perhaps he is wanting you to reflect and be thankful.

My husband seems to get a lot of sinus infections. I will keep you in my prayers.

  19. Hope you get better.

    1. Thank you- I am…

  20. Hope you feel better soon:)

    1. I am… Thanks
