And here’s the surprising truth: As you gaze at yourself in the mirror held by another, you will see far more than your flaws. You also will see the beauty that is uniquely you; beauty that others see clearly and you may hardly know exists. That is also part of the truth about you.~ Steve Goodier
What Do Our Spirit Bodies Look Like?
In the last exercise, Doug and I shared how to feel your spirit body. Now we’re going to see what it looks like, with our imaginations…
This exercise will build connections between the different parts of yourself. Get your imagination fired up and let’s get going!
We’re going to build upon what we did in the last exercise.
Close your eyes and call up the feeling of your body extending out beyond your skin… 24 inches or so.
Don’t forget to extend down this same distance from the bottoms of your feet.
Using your imagination, picture this energy body surrounding you… Get a clear image in your mind. Answer the following questions to help develop the image further:
- What color is your spirit body?
- Is it still and calm, or are parts (or all of it) moving? How does it move?
- Does it seem dense, or is it see through and airy?
- Does it have a lot of resistance like a force field, or is it easily penetrated?
- Is it illuminated?
- Is it the same throughout, or does it change for different parts of your body?
If you have any questions about what you’re seeing, ask yourself now, while you’re still seeing your spirit body. Wait for an answer… It may be words, a feeling or just an “Ah Ha” moment. Listen to yourself… That’s where the answer came from.
This exercise is useful for understanding what’s going on with your body and mind. By connecting with yourself like this, you’ll sense what’s going on with you on a deeper level that can’t be expressed with words.
Develop your imagination and listen to colors and images… Not just words.
If you’re interested in learning more about the colors you see, this website has a good introduction to their meanings…
Here’s another good exercise that is related to what we’re doing here…
